The first round is in the books. We had some clean hits, a few reaches, and the usual chaos with trades. Bringing it to you raw, honest, and no fluff.

1. Washington Wizards – AJ Dybantsa (SF, BYU) A+

They won the lottery and took the best player available. Dybantsa has size, athleticism, defense, and scoring upside. This is the cleanest top pick in years for a franchise that usually finds ways to screw these up. Wizards fans finally have a reason to believe again.

2. Utah Jazz – Darryn Peterson (SG/PG, Kansas) A+

Peterson is a dynamic creator with real scoring juice. Jazz needed guard play and landed a guy who can actually initiate offense and create for others. This one looks like a franchise cornerstone. Upgraded to A+ after another look — it’s that good.

3. Memphis Grizzlies – Cameron Boozer (PF, Duke) A

Boozer is tough, skilled, and plays winning basketball. Memphis continues to collect high-motor, high-character forwards who fit their identity. This was the right player at the right spot. No complaints.

4. Chicago Bulls – Caleb Wilson (SF/PF, North Carolina) A-

Wilson brings size, athleticism, and shooting potential. The Bulls needed versatile frontcourt help and got a guy who can play multiple positions right away. Upgraded to A- — this is a really strong, need-based pick that should pay off quickly.

5. LA Clippers (via Indiana) – Keaton Wagler (SG/PG, Illinois) B

Wagler is tough, competitive, and can shoot and defend. Clippers needed backcourt depth and got a guy who should contribute right away. Safe and functional. Very on-brand for
